Function of wax lotion in water-based wood coatings

Adding wax lotion in the field of water-based wood paint can improve the feel of the wood paint film, have a smooth feel, and improve the scratch resistance, abrasion resistance, hydrophobicity and other properties of the paint film. The abrasion resistance of wax lotion is related to the elasticity, toughness, hardness, strength and other factors of the coating. For wear resistance and slip enhancement, the higher the wax density, the stronger the hardness, and the better the effect. The wax particle size is similar or slightly larger than the coating thickness, and its slip enhancement, scratch resistance, and wear resistance are better because these wax particles slightly higher than the coating surface play a role similar to bearing lubrication.

1. Anti back tacking: wax lotion has great help for anti back tacking of paint film, and paraffin wax products have better effect than polyethylene wax products.

2. Scratch resistance: The higher the density of wax particles and the larger the particle size, the better the scratch resistance and wear resistance of the coating.

3. Water repellency: paraffin lotion provides excellent water repellency, and "lotus leaf effect" can be achieved after the formula is optimized.

4. Extinction effect: Reduce the amount of extinction powder used, thereby reducing sedimentation and improving the storage stability of the system. It can promote a smooth hand feel, scratch resistance of the coating, and improve the anti polishing effect of the matte coating, all of which cannot be compared by using silicon-based matting powder alone.
